India has strengthened its arsenal of unmanned systems by acquiring dozens of Berkut-BM kamikaze drones, produced by the Belarusian company Indela.

The model is classified as a jet-powered loitering munition, designed for high-precision strike missions against strategic targets.

Equipped with a Chinese Swiwin micro turbojet engine, the Berkut-BM can reach speeds of up to 410 km/h and operate at distances of approximately 150 km. This combination of speed and range reduces the drone’s exposure to enemy air defense systems and enhances its chances of success in the final phase of the mission.

The drone carries a 10 kg fragmentation warhead, capable of neutralizing radars, air defense systems, artillery positions, and logistical structures. The launch is performed via catapult, allowing deployment from forward areas without the need for runways or permanent facilities.

Prior to the agreement with India, Belarus had already exported the Berkut-BM to countries such as Russia, Venezuela, Algeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces, establishing the model as one of the leading Belarusian-origin unmanned strike platforms in the international market.
